About Chippewa Park

Affordable Living in South City

Chippewa Park is a joint venture between Rise Community Development and Lutheran Development Group. The development entails the complete renovation of 16 historic buildings located in the Gravois-Jefferson Streetcar Suburb Historic District to create 46 apartment homes and nearly 8,500 square feet of retail space along Chippewa Street.

All of the buildings had been vacant and in poor condition, and were selected in part for their high visibility and potential for impact on the surrounding neighborhood. The two, three, and four bedroom homes range in size from approximately 739 to 1,659 square feet. Rents are affordable to families and individuals who earn 60% or less than the metropolitan area median income (click 2018 income limits to see the current limits).
